Lexington & Greensboro, NC – Brinkley Walser, PLLC and Stoner, Bowers, Gray & McDonald, P.A. have announced plans to merge the firms effective January 1, 2015. The two firms have been in practice for a combined total of 200+ years. The merger will expand the breadth of services offered to clients of both firms.
“We are very excited about the upcoming merger with Stoner-Bowers,” says David Inabinett, managing member of Brinkley Walser. “The firms have very similar values, and we look forward to having other attorneys and staff with additional depth of experience in both similar and differing areas of practice. Our goal is to continue to provide quality legal representation and proactive planning with the client service and small town tradition which have been the focus of both practices for so many years. We expect clients to see only positive changes.” The firm will operate under the name Brinkley Walser Stoner, PLLC from offices at 10 LSB Plaza in Lexington and 620 Green Valley Rd., Suite 306 in Greensboro.
“I began my career in 1975 with the Stoner law firm when it was known as Stoner and Bowers,” says Carl W. Gray, Managing Partner of Stoner-Bowers. “There have been a lot of changes since then. I feel very good about the merger of the Stoner law firm with the Brinkley Walser law firm, and I’m confident that the combined knowledge and experience of the attorneys and staff of both firms will enable us to offer quality, comprehensive legal services to people here in the Triad area and make it unnecessary to travel a long distance to obtain the services they need. I look forward to continuing to practice with the Brinkley Walser Stoner firm in an of counsel capacity that will enable me to focus my attention entirely on the practice of law.” Gray will join Charles H. McGirt, Jack E. Klass, and G. Thompson Miller in an of counsel role; Bradley S. Hunt, Roy L. McDonald, II, Ryan McNeill, and David Inabinett will be members; Gary J. Bowers and E. Drew Nelson will be associate members. Inabinett will continue as managing member of the combined firm.
“The merger will expand and enhance the areas of professional legal representation for the firms,” says Roy McDonald, II of Stoner-Bowers. “Clients will have access to a pool of attorneys with a depth of knowledge in almost every area of the law, offering legal counsel in the kind of extended practice areas that you would normally expect to find offered in firms located in larger cities, without compromising our shared small town history and values. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
