Lexington, NC — Please join the Brinkley Walser Stoner, PLLC, team in congratulating David E. Inabinett, the firm’s Managing Member, on his 30 years with the firm. Inabinett joined what was then Brinkley Walser immediately after earning his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1996 and has built his entire legal career at the firm ever since.
“Brinkley Walser Stoner is my idea of what a law firm should be,” says Inabinett. “I was very lucky on my journey to be mentored by some of the firm’s greats, like Walter F. Brinkley, R.B. Smith, Charlie McGirt, and Thompson Miller. Thirty years later, I still feel privileged every day to help friends, neighbors, and the people I meet day to day with their legal needs.”
Over the past three decades, Inabinett has built a practice centered on estate planning and administration, elder law, Medicaid and nursing home planning, real estate law, and public school law, representing clients such as the Davidson County Board of Education, the Lexington City Board of Education, and Davidson County Community College. He has served as President of the North Carolina Association of Community College Attorneys and is a longtime member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the NC Council of School Attorneys.
Inabinett was asked to serve as the firm’s first managing member, a role he has used to help grow Brinkley Walser Stoner into what he describes as a 21st century leader providing “big city law with small-town values and traditions.” He has been recognized through the years in The Best Lawyers in America® for Elder Law and Trusts & Estates Law, and holds an AV Distinguished rating from Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™.
Colleagues describe Inabinett’s influence on the firm’s culture as central to its identity.
“David was a big part of what inspired me to join Brinkley Walser in 2013,” says attorney Drew Nelson. “He taught me what it means to be a civic lawyer by not just focusing on the practice of law but also on being involved in our community. He has been the rock of our firm for many years.”
“Since joining BWS in 2003, I have had the distinct pleasure of working closely with David on nearly a daily basis,” says attorney Bradley S. Hunt. “His constant and unwavering professionalism and dedication to his clients and the community have made a significant impact on my career. I am fortunate to call David a mentor and a friend.”
“It is truly a blessing and an honor to work with David,” adds Vikki Aldridge. “He leads by example, inspires those around him, and continually encourages growth. We are incredibly fortunate to have his guidance and leadership.”
“I had the privilege of being at Brinkley Walser Stoner when David began his legal career 30 years ago, and later worked closely with him for 14 years while I served as Business Manager and he served as Managing Partner,” says Karen Greene, former Business Manager (retired). “During those years, I saw firsthand his tireless commitment to the firm and especially, to the people who work there. David has always had a genuine passion for encouraging and supporting employees while carrying forward the legacy of Mr. Walter Brinkley, who mentored him early in his career. He taught me a great deal, and I always knew I could trust him and count on his support. I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside David and proud to have witnessed the leadership, integrity and care he has brought to Brinkley Walser Stoner over the past 30 years.”

Congratulations to you,David. It was pleasure to have had the opportunity of your guidance when I was on the Community College Board of Trustees as well as the service you have given to my family.
David is more than a Lawyer. He is a very talented Artist too.
When I was handling Legal Matters for my Father, Charlie McGirt asked him to take over for him. Sadly, shortly after Charlie passed away and David stepped right in and started where Charlie left off. Because of my total trust of Charlie, I knew I was being turned over to someone very capable. Charlie had been our Family’s Attorney for over 50 years. I chose Brinkley, Walser, & Stoner many years ago because my beloved Cousin who was like my Big Brother had chosen Charlie. Ten months after I was married, my Cousin was killed in the Line of Duty as Chief of Police of Gibsonville, NC. and Charlie handled his Estate. Obviously Law Enforcement Officers know all the local Attorneys and know who is the best and of the highest integrity. My “Big Brother” that ran background checks on every guy I dated in High School was still protecting me after he made the Ultimate Sacrifice. My Mother soon after made Charlie her personal and Corporate Attorney. Anyone with the Stamp of Approval of Charlie McGirt is of the utmost integrity, capability, and professionalism.
Congratulations on 30 years David. You’re making me feel old. I can remember when you were a teenager selling copies of your artwork at the BBQ Festival with your Parents whom I had the pleasure of knowing. I can envision them smiling proudly down from Heaven at you. I wish you health, happiness, and longevity in Life and Law.
Thank you DAVID for all your help over the years.
