I chose to go to law school after working for several years as a clinical mental health counselor, primarily with juvenile justice involved youth and their families. During those years, I witnessed firsthand what happens to a person when they do not have competent and motivated legal counsel. The law can be complex, so many people are left feeling helpless, often unable to assert or protect even their most basic legal rights. Whether I am working with individuals or businesses, I see it as my job to ensure that my clients know and understand their legal rights and available options and are empowered to make legal decisions that will serve their best interests.

I enjoy working with clients across several practice areas. On the planning side, helping a client structure a new business can prevent future legal challenges, while working with individuals and families on estate planning can ensure someone’s final wishes are honored.

“I enjoy working for a firm with such a rich history and deep connections to the local community. I am proud to help carry on Brinkley Walser Stoner’s tradition of providing high quality legal services and advocacy in Davidson County and the larger Triad region.”

Planning is only part of the work though. Many clients come to the firm facing a legal crisis. This might include potential lawsuits, ongoing civil litigation, or even criminal charges. One of the unique attributes I bring to my litigation and criminal law cases is my background as an Assistant District Attorney with the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office in Winston-Salem. During my time as an Assistant District Attorney, I prosecuted DWI cases, general misdemeanors, and domestic violence-related offenses, with over 100 bench trials under my belt. This courtroom experience serves my clients well in those few cases where a legal issue cannot be resolved prior to trial.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, working out, and spending time with my family.
