Lexington, NC – David Inabinett, Managing Member of Brinkley Walser Stoner, announced today that team member Kelly Chatterton has earned the title of NC Certified Paralegal. Chatterton earned her degree as a paralegal in May 2014.
“We congratulate Kelly on her achievement,” says Inabinett. “The NC Certified Paralegal program is a long-term commitment. Not only do participants have to successfully pass multiple classes, but also participate in continuing education each year to maintain their certification. Kelly worked hard to earn this recognition.” The certification program is administered by the North Carolina State Bar. The voluntary program focuses on ensuring paralegals work with the highest level of professionalism and ethics.
“I had planned to get a degree in political science but ended up working as a 911 emergency operator for 12 years,” says Chatterton. “That sparked an interest in the law, so I returned to school in 2013 to pursue a degree as a paralegal. I took a double course load, and graduated in May of 2014, then found a job with Stoner, Bowers, Gray and McDonald [Stoner Bowers merged with Brinkley Walser in January 2015 to become Brinkley Walser Stoner]. Becoming certified seemed like the natural next step. I’m very excited to have earned this honor!” Kelly is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (Sigma Alpha Pi) and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She is married and has one child.
