Portraits of Walter F. Brinkley and Robert B. Smith, Jr. presented at Courthouse
Lexington, NC – Former Brinkley Walser Stoner attorneys Walter F. Brinkley and Robert Bruce (RB) Smith, Jr. were honored posthumously with the presentation and display of their portraits in the superior court of Davidson County. Both families attended the presentation.
“It is tradition that recently deceased attorneys are honored by having their portrait presented and displayed in the superior court of Davidson County,” says David Inabinett, managing member of Brinkley Walser Stoner. “Both Walt and RB had long careers (collectively they practiced law for 110 years!) and helped so many people in and around Davidson County. It was good to come together to share stories and remember them both.”
The presentation took place on Friday November 20 in a special session of the superior court over which the Honorable Theodore S. Royster presided. David Inabinett spoke on behalf of the law firm where Walt and RB practiced. The families of RB and Walt also spoke about their long legal careers. Walt’s family noted his portrait joins those of his own father and father-in-law both of whom spent their careers practicing in Lexington as well.

So proud to see my dad’s portrait hanging in the courtroom with both of my grandfathers’ portraits. Thanks to Brinkley Walser Stoner for honoring him!
