Back to School Time!

In most areas, the kids are getting ready to head back to school, so we wanted to provide a few tips to make it easier to get back into the swing of things. If you are new to the area, you will need to get your children registered and learn expectations and operational details. If your children are already enrolled but will be heading back to school, you will still want to look at potential changes in bus stops, starting and ending times, and more.

Big Toy Day is August 25

Head out and support Communities in Schools Lexington/Davidson County at Big Toy Day 2018! Come see planes, trucks, heavy equipment, and more. CIS has added balloon rides for 2018 (weather permitting). The event is set for August 25 from 10am to 2pm at the Davidson County Airport. Admission is $5/person and free for children 10 and under. There will be some great raffles, too. Bring the family and enjoy a fun day out.

Milestone Anniversaries

In addition to celebrating the 100th edition of the BWS Update, we are also recognizing two five-year work anniversaries in August. Drew Nelson celebrated his anniversary on 8/6, while Margaret Story will celebrate hers on 8/26. Congratulations to them both!
